Meet our three new friends!
We recently heard about an unfortunate situation. A nearby sanctuary is facing financial hardships, after a decade of rescuing farm animals and educating the public on the cruelty inherent in intensive farming. They made the difficult decision to find good homes for the most of the animals, and of course we wanted to help how we could.
We agreed to take in two male goats, Khalil and Zulu, and a sweet female sheep named Vesta (seen above, left to right). Our friendly sheep Martin has been a bit lonely lately, as his friend Stella has been spending more time with the girl sheep. So we wanted a new friend for him. Zulu and Khalil are the same age as Earl and Ringo, who needed some younger goat playmates! Khalil has some medical issues that will require daily ongoing care, but he is possibly the cutest goat we have ever seen (don't tell Callie!!). Zulu is friendly and outgoing, and Vesta is shy and super sweet. We can't wait to watch their personalities blossom in their new home.
You may remember 2 years ago when we welcomed 9 new friends from another sanctuary under similar circumstances. So many sanctuaries are downsizing or closing their doors - an absolutely heartbreaking situation for caregivers who have promised their animals a safe forever home. These are all animals who have previously been rescued from terrible situations. They have found sanctuary, acclimated to safety and security, only to be displaced AGAIN, forced to get used to an entirely new home, often separate from their adopted families. With your help we can continue to provide a haven for displaced animals.
All of the important work we do is only possible through donations from generous and compassionate people like you. You keep us going. You keep our animals safe, healthy, and happy. Thank you for helping support sweet Vesta, Zulu, and Khalil, and all the rescued animals at Sweet Farm. We couldn't do this without you.
